Margaret “Margie” Sylvia Martinez, 58, went home to Jesus on September 16, 2021 after a long illness. Margie was born to her parents Martha and Roberto Martinez on January 31, 1963 in El Paso, TX. A faithful lady, Margie was a lifelong resident of El Paso who loved the Lord, her family, and her community.
Margie is survived by her parents Martha and Roberto Martinez of El Paso, with whom she lived for her whole life; her two younger sisters and their spouses Virginia and Fausto Garza of El Paso and Martha and Abel Vislar of El Paso; her beloved nieces, Nina and Brianna Garza; her beloved nephews Roberto “Bobby” and Maggie Valdez, Michael and Rebecca Valdez, and Abel Vislar II; and extended family, neighbors, and friends.
Margie graduated from Burges High School in 1983, and she achieved many accolades and accomplishments during her high school years. Having never married, she lived a full life surrounded by her devoted family members, especially her parents who steadfastly cared for her.
She dedicated much of her time to her hobbies and interests which included puzzles, card games, crafts, and beadwork. She was an avid bowler and was awarded many trophies for her bowling achievements. She also cherished time spent going out eating and shopping, often choosing items she knew she could gift to her loved ones. She was well known for creating beaded jewelry and other crafts, which she delighted in presenting to her beloved relatives and friends on holidays. No holiday photo is complete without these necklaces and accessories proudly worn and displayed.
Margie’s generosity of spirit was remarkable, and she could make anyone laugh with her witty sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who must take comfort that Margie is now resting, having entered fully into the presence of the Lord.
