Maria Eugenia Pacheco

Maria, born the youngest of five children, is preceded in death by her parents; Benjamin Muniz and Victoria Chavira Muniz; siblings Hector Muniz, Benjamin Muniz Jr., and Victoria Cedillo, husband Leonardo Pacheco Jr., and her children; Sandra Schneider and Hector Pacheco.

Maria is survived by her son Martin Pacheco, grandchildren Amanda Agapito (Carlo), Marcus Schneider, Sara Schneider, Mariah Tafoya (Juan), Leonardo Pacheco, III, Andrea Alcazar (David), and Hector Pacheco Jr. (Luzely); numerous great grandchildren and her brother Rodolfo Muniz.

Maria graduated from El Paso Technical High School “La Tech” in 1961. Maria married her husband of 53 years, Leonardo Pacheco, Jr., on November 14, 1961. For most of her life, she worked as a homemaker. She loved her mother and family dearly and would most often be found cooking in the kitchen and hosting family dinner on the weekends.

Lord, please welcome our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Lita), sister and friend Maria into your loving arms to be once again in your eternal light. We ask that you fill us with loving memories when our hearts and minds are weary. Provide us with guidance and comfort as we learn to walk our paths without her. We ask this in your name. Amen.

A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave, El Paso, Texas 79907. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
