Our beautiful mother, Mary J. (Soto) was peacefully taken by our Lord
to the heavens above on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the age of 97.
She was born on July 20, 1923 to her preceded parents Modesto Soto Sr.
and Paula (Reyes). She was married to her love, the late Jesus J. Rodriguez
for 62 beautiful years.
Mary was a volunteer at R.E. Thomason General Hospital (now known as
University Medical Center--UMC). Later she worked as a seamstress at a
sewing factory for many years. She loved to ride her bike, going to the movies
and dancing; oh how she loved to go dancing with her friends...later accompanied
by her husband as well. Eventhough, she was a rather quiet person, she also had
her sense of humor. A few years after her youngest was born, she retired to devote
her time to her family. She taught us the values of family and the importance of going
to church and prayer. She loved getting together with family for the many years that
she was able. Our mother had this love and kindness about her that even our neighborhood
kids would be drawn to her. Mary was a beautiful person inside & out and will be very much
missed by her entire family..
Mary is survived by her beloved son, Jesse Jr. (Lucy); beloved daughter, Barbara A., three
sisters, Cathy(Robert) Melendez, Lolita(Polo) Estala, Emma(David) Keener; four brothers,
Eloy(Helen) Soto, Frank(Delia) Soto, Freddy(Lorraine) Soto, Tony(Sylvia) Soto, as well as
six grandchildren, Benjamin A., Emily A., Jessica M., Sarah J., Amanda A., Britney D. and
two great grandchildren.
She is preceded by her daughter, Yvette; step-mother, Ramona; two sisters, Santos & Luisa and
seven brothers, Jose, Honorio, Raymond, Reyanldo, Richard Modesto Jr.(Leto) and Manuel.

Mom ........
Those special memories of you will always warm our hearts and bring a smile to our face.
If only we could have you back for just a little while longer ....... to talk some more, to feel your
hand in ours, give each other hugs and kisses and receive each other's blessings just like we
used to do. You always meant so very much and we thank God He gave us you as our momma
while you were here on earth.
The fact that you're no longer here will always cause us pain ....... but you will forever be in our hearts
until we meet again. ❤
LOVED BEYOND WORDS....MISSED BEYOND MEASURE....
❤ LOVE YOU ALWAYS & FOREVER MOM ❤
