

Marian Markowitz Greenberg, 93, passed away in her home December 18. A resident of El Paso for over 40 years, she moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2012 to be closer to her granddaughter. A life-long volunteer, she was a member of the Wallace Houston Lodge Eastern Star, Society of Military Widows, Gold Star Wives, Northeast Association, USS Northampton (CA-26) Association, as well as the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary. She was a career bank teller, spending nearly 30 years at what was once Bank of El Paso. She was an active member of the Jewish Chapel at Ft. Bliss. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, SFC (Ret) Perry Greenberg, her daughter Eileen Rae Greenberg Drachman, and her son Harvey Hal Greenberg, RN. The youngest daughter of 8 children, she is survived by her brother Herman Markowitz and his wife, Nancy, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her granddaughter Sara Hawkins and her husband, Carlton, of Phoenix, Arizona; her great-granddaughter Perri Hawkins; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. El Paso, Texas 79906.
