I have such fond memories of Uncle Mark.  So many that I could fill a book.  I always loved being around him.  The stories and jokes he would tell had me laughing for hours.  But more importantly, I learned from him that no matter where we are at in life that we value our time together.  I love Uncle Mark and will miss him terribly.  

Mark has always been the epitome of selflessness and generosity. I recall just a few short years ago at Christmas when I sent him some money to buy a nice gift for himself. Instead, he took the money to purchase toys for local underprivileged children so they would have something to open at Christmas. That's one of the many, many reasons we all have loved Mark so much. What a precious soul and sweet brother! You are dearly missed.

Uncle Mark, I’m going to miss you with ALL my heart. You were like another big brother to me!  With what seemed like minimal effort or thought on your part, you always made me feel welcome, wanted, and accepted no matter what you had going on (hanging with your friends, doing work on the job [plumbing], or just jamming out on your guitar in your room).  That was SO important to a young kid/adolescent/teen who was having trouble finding their way in the world—you were ALWAYS there with a kind, attentive ear.

…AND, regarding your guitar jam sessions, some of my MOST fond memories were when you played all the songs that we both loved and enjoyed (like James Taylor) and invited/encouraged me to sing along to accompany your awesome riffing/shredding. We’d sit around in your room for hours playing, singing, and laughing at my horrible voice!!  I will remember those times—and all our times together—ALWAYS. Thank you for being YOU!
