Martha Sofia De La Torre

From her early childhood until the day of her passing Martha was a kind and gentle soul and a source of joy to all who knew her. She was well known for her spectacular fashion sense and was rarely seen without a favorite hat and an assortment of colorful rings and bracelets. Martha was a proud graduate of Burges High School and she was a devoted fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and the old El Chavo television series. She had a deep love for everyone in her family and took great pride in each of them, memorizing the age and birthday of each with astonishing accuracy. Her family in return. adored her and so appreciated her simple approach to complex issues and her frank, honest, and often hilarious commentary on life.

Martha is predeceased by her parents, her sister Consuelo Montes, and her brother Raul. She is survived by her brothers Jose Luis (Ann), Jorge (Lili), and Leo (Donna) and her sister Yolanda, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She held a special place in all their hearts and they will miss her deeply.

A visitation for Martha will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM at Martin Funeral Home East with a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m., 1460 George Dieter Drive, El Paso, TX 79936. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907.
