Marvin peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Marvin was born in Michalovce, Czechoslovakia, to Eugene and Helen Roth. At the age of 4 Marvin traveled with his parents to the United States where they united with family living in El Paso, Texas.
Marvin attended El Paso High School and then college at Texas Western (UTEP). After graduation Marvin worked with his family at Union Furniture and then served in the United States Army. After the Army, Marvin entered the insurance business working for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance and then founding First Financial Resources, a business providing financial planning.
Marvin was a bachelor until he was 31 years old when he met the love of his life, Harriet Schoichet. They married less than a year later and celebrated 52 wonderful years together.
Marvin always had a deep-rooted sense of community and a desire to give back. He was President of Congregation B’nai Zion and was also on the founding board of Insights Museum.
Marvin enjoyed life and his family to the fullest.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife Harriet, his daughter Lisa Yzurdiaga (Mark), son Jeffrey Roth (Jennifer), brother Justin Roth (Sharon), and grandson Benjamin Roth.
Services to be held graveside at B’nai Zion Cemetery on Sunday, June 30, 2017 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B’nai Zion Marvin Roth Memorial Fund.
