Mary Alice Lawrence Francis

Mary Alice Lawrence Francis passed away peacefully June 7, 2010, after a full life. Born January 4, 1914 in San Diego, California, Mary Alice was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She met Fred Francis in 1931 after graduating from Incarnate Word High School. They were married and lived in San Antonio until 1941 when Fred was transferred to El Paso with General Electric Company. Fred and Mary Alice are survived by two sons, Larry (former Mayor of El Paso) (wife Marilyn), and Kenneth of Austin, (wife Candy). Mary Alice is also survived by grandchildren Rick Francis of El Paso (wife Ginger), Linda Francis Lee of New York (husband Mike), Brian Francis of Houston (wife Andria), Carilyn Francis Johnson of El Paso (husband Tim), Laura Francis Garcia of El Paso (husband Jorge), and Kevin Francis of San Francisco. Mary Alice is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2010 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home West. Internment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer, El Paso, TX 79904. A memorial service will be held at Monte Vista Retirement Community at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary Alice's memory to the Church of St. Clement, 810 N. Campbell, El Paso, TX 79902, or charity of choice.
