Melissa (Missy) Jacques, 59, acquired her wings and joined our heavenly father on May 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in El Paso, TX on March 29, 1966. She was a proud EPHS band member, graduated from El Paso High School, and earned her Bachelor's degree from UTEP. Driven by a genuine desire to make a difference, she became a teacher—putting her heart into the profession she truly cherished. Before becoming a teacher she worked in payables at Jacques Produce. Missy was a dedicated member and officer of LULAC Council 335. She loved to travel, with Disneyland and the California coast as her favorites. A fan of the arts, especially jazz and musicals, she was also the family's go-to photographer. To her niece Ashley, she was Sunshine, radiating warmth and light to everyone. Missy cherished her friendships from Mesita and EPHS, becoming known for uniting classmates through reunions she helped organize.
She is preceded in death by her father Alfredo “Lelo” Jacques and her brothers in law Jose and Frank. She is survived by her mother Carmen R. Jacques, sisters Lillian Garcia (David), Vangie Sanchez, Cindy Jacques, and Jeni Jacques. Nieces, Paula Sanchez, Allison J. and Ashley J. Escobar. Also survived by her aunts Alicia Rodriguez and Lela Villalobos and a multitude of cousins among them Ernie Rodriguez, Sylvia Mercado, Jamie and Andre Fino.
