Michael Alan Rampy, 71, of El Paso, Texas passed away Monday July 23, 2018. Born February 9, 1947, he was a proud alumni of The University of Texas at El Paso where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) fraternity. He served as the President of the El Paso Chapter of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and the President of the UTEP El Dorados organization. He also served on the city Sanitation Advisory Board and the city Public Transit Board. He was a successful entrepreneur who retired as the President and CEO of Utility Trailer Southwest Sales in 2017. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, known to all as the “life of the party,” he was a fierce friend who was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. He was an avid reader but also enjoyed cooking, Nascar, boating, traveling in his motor home, live country music, and of course a cold beer. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Dr. Robbie Rampy, daughter Miki Brown and husband David Brown, son Matthew Rampy, daughter Dr. Jacqueline Rampy, his three grandchildren Darien, Micah, and Ashor. He was predeceased by his parents Milton Rampy and Ara “Bennie” Rampy. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends who loved him.
