Nicholas Anthony Duran, 37, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, surrounded by his wife, who held his hand as he passed, and the nurses and staff who came to view him as family, not just a patient.
Nick was kind, loving, caring, patient, humble, and quietly selfless. A man of few words but many actions, he showed his love through everything he did. He faced life with a gentle smile and was always willing to help others, living by the words he created: “Don’t say no.” He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a great son, and an incredibly hilarious brother whose one-of-a-kind humor brought constant laughter and unforgettable moments to his family. His presence was comforting, his smile genuine, and his heart open to everyone who knew him.
Prior to receiving his transplant, Nick worked as a warehouse shipping clerk and was known for his reliability and dedication. After his transplant, he embraced one of his greatest joys, becoming a stay-at-home dad to his beautiful daughter, Arizona Cheyenne Duran. He filled their days with patience, laughter, creativity, and unconditional love, cherishing every milestone and every quiet moment they shared. Being present for his family meant everything to him.
Nick was a friend to all and, to his wife, he was her best friend, her unit, her partner, and her greatest strength. He will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched with his warmth, generosity, humor, and quiet strength. Though he may be gone, the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
“What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” — Helen Keller
