Born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on June 24, 1918, Norman L. Miller passed away on June 14, 2015, at the age of 96. Married to Margaret (Peggy) Behrens in 1943, they started a family that soon grew to three boys, Ronald, David, and Steven. In the early 1950s, the family moved to Ft. Bliss, Texas, where the warm winters proved to be too enticing compared to Wisconsin.
While serving in the U. S. Army in the late 1950s, Norman became involved with Freemasonry. In 1963, after 20 years and 27 days, he retired from military service, but he continued his attachment to the Masons, an attachment he held dear to his heart for the remainder of his years.
He is survived by son David Miller and wife Debra of Houston, son Steven, grandchildren Lauren Miller, Juliana Miller, Charlene Miller-Becker and husband Matthew, Chason Miller, Glen Miller, and five great grand-children. He is preceded in death by son Ronald Miller, wife Peggy Miller, brother Gordon Miller, and parents George and Eva Miller.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell. A Funeral Service will be held Friday June 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, or to the El Maida Shrine Transportation Fund.
