Hello. My name is Jessica Martinez and I had the privilege of teaching Otni in my PreAP Biology class when he was a freshman. I found some photos of him from that year and thought I would share them. Otni was a wonderful young man. He was very smart. I remember writing lots of certificates for him every time we had a test because he was always getting 100’s on them (which was hard to do). He was fun. I remember seeing his eyes light up as he smiled and laughed with his friends in my class. But most of all, Otni was humble. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was always helping others. He never treated anyone different. He had a kind, gentle spirit. He touched so many lives. I am truly sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Otni was about 5 or 6, I sat on his bed so I could put my socks and shoes on while I talked to Miriam. I could feel a stare on the side of my face. I turned back to see him staring at me and at my shoes on the bed. He just kept going back and forth between the two. I asked him “what did I do?” He replied “your shoes are on the bed!” Ohhhh okay….. I put the shoes on the floor and he went back to playing. I never put shoes on a bed ever again. LOL.

My most sincere condolences for this great sorrow, I hope you and your family find comfort for your soul soon.

My heart goes out to his family i was very personal and close with him just last year and it really breaks my heart in pieces to know he is gone so soon. Otni was a strong incredible brave resilient man who went through things at such a young age that he shouldn’t have had to. He always talked about how he felt and how to get support and was always there for other people. May he rest in peace and shine above , may he no longer be in pain or suffering. To the one person who made a difference in my life otni I love you rest easy my heart breaks to know you aren’t here anymore with us . Your smile and laugh were one of the things i always cherished about you. May you smile and laugh so much up above 😞🩷

I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know Otni but, when I heard about him I knew he was a great person.People would always say he so smart and that he was someone they wanted to stick around. I am very sorry for what happened, I know Otni was a very good kid and very sweet to others and, i send my condolences to everyone else who knew him and his family/friends. Miriam and Ryker….Otni was such a bright light and we are all better for having known him. He brought so much joy to both of my boys this summer. They always talk about how Otni and Ryker taught them to play pickleball and how much fun they had. Ezra loved his computer time with Otni and looked up to him so much. Please know that his spirit will live on and I feel so blessed that his positive influence had such a tremendous influence on my family. Austin Salinas and family.
