Phyllis Pickett, 98, of El Paso, TX, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Glen Pickett and beloved son, Anthony Pickett.
A lifelong educator and selfless person, Phyllis dedicated her life to education and service. She touched countless lives as a teacher and principal (St. Pius and St. Raphael Catholic Schools), known for her patience, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to her students. Beyond the classroom, Phyllis was a vibrant presence in the community.
She was a proud and active member of the Lions Club, the Christ Child Society, and found joy and friendship as a longtime dancer with the senior performance group, The Rockerettes. Her generous spirit, sense of humor, and zest for life inspired all who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her five loving children: Anne Pickett, Mary Pickett, Joseph Pickett, Christopher Pickett and Patrick Pickett, 14 grandchildren: Andy Estrada, Vera Estrada, Francis Estrada, Nicklaus Jimenez, Christal Pickett, Jennifer Chavez, Josey Pickett, Conrad Pickett, Christina Pickett, Joshua Pickett, Chase Pickett, Adam Pickett, Madison Pickett, Michelle Mullins and 10 great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of kindness, dedication to service, and joyful spirit.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn 8817 Dyer St. El Paso, Tx. 79904. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 10:00 a.m at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd, El Paso, Tx. 79925, with a burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 Socorro Rd. El Paso, Tx. 79907.
All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rescue Mission of El Paso (rmelp.org/donate) in her memory.
