

Raymond (Ron, Ray, Ronnie) was born on April 16, 1948, in El Paso, Texas, to Raymond and Sally “Toot” Ward. He was a proud graduate of Coronado High School, Class of 1966, where he was an All-District athlete in football and basketball. He later attended the University of Texas at El Paso, earning a degree in Civil Engineering in 1970 and playing football during his time at UTEP.
Ron dedicated his professional life to civil engineering, working alongside his family in Ray Ward & Sons Construction and Wardson Construction. His work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence were evident in all he did.
He married Kathy Ward in 1986, and together they built a life rooted in faith, love, and family. They were blessed with five children.
Ron devoted his life to serving others and honoring the Lord. He shared the Word of God through numerous mission trips around the world and faithfully served as an Elder in his church. His life was a testament to servant leadership, humility, and unwavering faith.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy Ward; his children, Sally (Chad) McHalffey, Brian (Crista) Ward, Tamara Meldahl, Paulette (Jimmy) Shatara, and Kerra (Dustin) Serratt; his cherished grandchildren, Colton, Maddie, JT, Carson, Mason, Kennedy, Hannah, Aiden, and Olivia; his siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sally Ward; his siblings, Lyndee Ward and Betsy Ward; and his precious granddaughter, Meghan McHalffey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Coronado Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life service to follow immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coronado Baptist Church Youth Ministries, in honor of Ron’s lifelong commitment to faith and service.
