Raymundo Resendez Jr.

Raymundo Resendez, Jr. passed away April 28, 2025, at the age of 87. Ray was born in El Paso, Texas, on August 14, 1937, to Raymundo Resendez and Manuela Cordova. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a graduate of Jefferson High School. “Baby,” as he was known to his friends and family, was a devoted father to his 9 children and a cherished grandfather to his many grandchildren. He was a proud United States National Guard Veteran and devoted his life to the trucking industry for around 60 years.

He was a great father figure to all who entered his life, offering love, guidance, and support.

Baby was a devout Catholic man who loved the Lord and lived his life by example. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs.

He was married to his beloved wife for over 70 years, and their love for each other grew stronger with each passing day. Raymundo's dedication to his family and his faith leaves a legacy of love and inspiration, and his memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Flora Lopez, brother Manuel Resendez, and son David Resendez. He is survived by his loving wife, Catalina Guerrero Resendez; his sons Danny (Inez), Ray III (Margie), Rueben (Laura), Robert (Heidi), Gilbert “Gibby” (Jenny); daughters Dolores “Pixie,” Grace, and Gloria “Georgie.”

Ray also leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Raymundo will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary service will occur Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Willamette Ave, El Paso, TX 79907. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, TX 79907.
