Ricky,
You are one of the most admirable people I have met. Your benevolent personality was a trait of yours that always stood out. In this photo I remember how much fun we all had at the pumpkin patch. When my husband and I took our kids this year, I was telling them about the last time I went was with you guys.  You were an amazing brother and role model for your siblings. I remember sleepovers with the family silly jokes and laughter at the table. Growing up with your sister through the years it felt like I was a part of the family. You are loved by many and will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to the Scoles family.

Our wedding day was the happiest, thanks for all the great times, I couldn't have asked for a better husband

Rick truly had an good heart and caring spirit. He was truly the best uncle any niece and nephew could ever ask for. All the kiddos loved Ricky BamBam you didn’t ever have to change a thing about you. 

My last message from Ricky was when I told him he made me nervous every time he posted bike tricks. He laughed it off and said not to worry.  I said however, I knew we couldn’t do anything about it because it was his passion, and I respected that.This is what he said.   
Thank you for your kindness, connectedness,  and sense of humor cousin. I will always remember you.

On behalf of the Cortez family please accept our deepest condolences. We are so sadden by this terrible tragedy.  We have beautiful memories with Richy and he will be missed dearly. 

The last text Ricky sent me when I texted him I was on my way to pick up my new bike at Crazy Cat. He made this old man feel so welcome in the MTB community. His enthusiasm and excitement  for everyone's progression showed just how much he cared about others. I will never forget you young man! 

My deepest condolences to Ricky's family, to his new wife.  Such a tragedy.  He was a great guy.  Always willing to share his knowledge and love for anything bikes.   He will forever be my friend that took me on my first night ride in the Franklin Mountains.  RIP Ricky 🙏
