Robert T. Hoover, III "Rob" passed away to Jesus on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at home in El Paso, Texas. His services are set for Friday, August 22, 2025 for funeral services at 2pm at St. Clement's Anglican Church in El Paso, Texas 810 N. Campbell St., El Paso, Texas 79902, 915-533-4915 (internment at 1:15pm Aug. 22, 2025 in the garden of St. Clement's Church). Rob Hoover was born in El Paso, was a profoundly Christian man and proud graduate of El Paso High School, and Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, with a year of graduate business school in Colorado. His career extended from bank examiner; Bauman Company management in El Paso; banker at El Paso National Bank, and real estate appraiser in El Paso to retirement. Rob was a past Senior Warden of St. Clement's Church in El Paso.
He found a great deal of satisfaction in his participation/leadership within the Stephen Ministry group outreach at St. Clements. His two Amazon parrots, Byrde and Scarlett were beloved avian pets who he loved.
Rob was an advocate for daily Bible readings, done out loud. He read a chapter in the Bible to his wife Karen each day, culminating in reading the Bible from cover to cover more than 10 times within his life. He was active in hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, big game hunting, weight lifting, and daily, silent prayer meditation listening to God. Rob attended church every Sunday. Thank you for life long friends: Mike Crisler and Greg Martin, Sam Young, Jr.( his uncle) and many more such as David Bernard. He loved classical music. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal and El Paso Times each morning.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Hoover, sister: Ruth Sprout, brother: Doak Hoover (Carrie); brother: David Hoover (Tami), step sisters: Erin (Bob) and Kristin, dear step Mother in Law: Sandra Hoover. His father was: Robert Thompson Hoover, Jr. and mother: Frances Elizabeth Young Hoover. His grandfathers were Robert Thompson Hoover and Sam D. Young. His aunt was Louann Feuille and uncle Joseph Hoover. Rob loved his 18 nieces/nephews and many young Feuilles. Karen is related to the Surratt, Otten, and Brown families in the Lower Valley in El Paso and Captain Wayne Slaughter, USN (Margaret); Captain Lee Slaughter, USN (Joan) and Marci Slaughter Wilson (Gary) who live in Fredericksburg, Granbury and Abilene, Texas respectively. Bito Feuille was a favorite cousin of Rob's.
