Roberto Murphy

On August 20, 2015 Roberto “Chanakas” Murphy, beloved husband, father, grand-father, brother, uncle & friend was called to his eternal resting place to honor our Lord Jesus Christ & reunite with his beloved parents, brothers & sister. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years Emma Murphy, his sons, Robert Jr. (Patsy), Jeff (Leila) Murphy, grandchildren: Robert III, Ashley, Roger, Isaiah Noel Murphy, & great-grandchild: Derric Casillas. God-daughters: Carmen Rodriguez & Liliana Gerrardo. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas; he served in the United Stated Army Company A, 1st Airborne BTL GP, 506th INF (Red Devils). After 30 years of service, he retired as a civil Engineer from White Sands Missile Range. Pallbearers will be Robert Jr., Jeff, Johnny, Robert III, Roger Murphy, and Francisco Marquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Murphy, Alfonso Hernandez. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
