

Roberto Gabriel Navarrete, “Nava”, born December 22, 1937, went Home to our Lord on September 5, 2017. Nava was a man of faith who loved his family and friends dearly. He was proud of his career in the El Paso Fire Department, serving the City of El Paso for 22 years. He was also a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Nava is survived by his beloved wife, Esther of 60 years. His three children are Annette (Scott) Howes, Deborah (Tony) Moncibaiz and Michael (Sophia) Navarrete. His eight grandchildren include Stephen (Samantha) Howes, Lauren (Joel) Hansen, Michael David (Hannah) Moncibaiz, Chantal Moncibaiz, Patrick Moncibaiz, Olivia Navarrete, Julia Navarrete, and Mia Navarrete. Nava’s five great grandchildren are Zachariah Howes, Zoe Howes, Francis Moncibaiz, Maizy Moncibaiz, and Maya Moncibaiz. He is also survived by his sister Nora (Larry) Earles, and brothers David Navarrete, Adrian (Barbara) Navarrete, Oscar Navarrete. Nava’s life-long, devoted friends include Salvador Avila, Carlos Aguirre, Porfirio Lopez and Fernando Andow. Our husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend will be greatly missed. We look forward with hope and joy to the day we are reunited. A visitation will be from 5:00-9:00pm, Friday, September 22, 2017 with a rosary at 7:00pm at F.D.A. Martin East, 1460 George Dieter Drive. A mass at 10:00am Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Santo Niño de Atocha Catholic Church.
