Today we mourn the loss of Rocío Fierro, 20. Born January 22, 1995 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was double majoring in International Business and Business Management with a minor in Engineering. She was my twin sister; my other half. She was always breaking the limits, testing to see how far she could go. She was incredibly talented. She played the trumpet beautifully and loved capturing a moment on paper. She was daring and adventurous and believed she could make a difference in this world. She was the overachiever of the class, the girl with straight A's and president of almost every club throughout high school. Not to mention she was in th marching band, president of the National Technical Honor Society, captain of the wrestling team, EPCC Student Government President and more. She won the Ranger award, an award that is only given to 10 students each graduating class. She had so much hope of being a role model for others and wanted to inspire them to be strong, caring, confident leaders, just like she was. My sister had a heart of a dreamer and the mind of a leader. She taught me how to dream big, and to stand up for what I believed in. She believed in equality and that everyone should have the right to love whoever they wanted. She loved her girlfriend the way all hope to someday be loved. Her favorite quote was "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." She will be forever remembered in the hearts of many as joyful, kind, honest, full of life and most importantly for making a difference in the world.
