Dr. Rocky Gonzalez

Gonzalez, Rogelio, Jr., M.D. (Rocky), renowned physician, passed away April 11, 2016. Rocky is survived by his wife, Bobbi, three sons, Benjamin (Ayrel) of El Paso, Trevor (Beth) of Tulsa, and Troy (Valerie) of San Antonio, and three beautiful grandchildren, Avery Joy, Riley Ann, and Aidan Patrick, four brothers, Felipe, Jesus, Louis and Jose Gonzalez, one sister, Maria C. Perales, and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Rogelio, his mother Maria, and his sister Martha.

He was a wonderful and loving husband, proud father, and grandfather. He emigrated from Mexico at the age of 7. He attended school in El Paso, graduating from Jefferson High School, the University of Dallas, and later the UT San Antonio Health Science Center where he graduated with honors in 1980. After completing his residency in El Paso, he opened a successful family practice, where he practiced for over 32 years. He fulfilled his dream of practicing medicine with his wife, and later his youngest son Dr. Benjamin Gonzalez. They continue his legacy of compassionate care.

Rocky was fiercely devoted to his family and abundantly generous. He touched the lives of all those he met and is deeply missed. Visitation will be held Friday April 15, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 10:45 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 Rosemont Dr. 79922. Followed by interment at Memory Gardens of the Valley.
