

Roger Lee Branson passed away on Sunday evening, September 8, 2024, at age 75. Roger, the youngest of 4 children, was born in Marfa, Texas, to the late James Earl (Sr.) and Irene M Branson. While still an infant, the family moved to El Paso, Texas where Roger grew up and lived. He graduated from Ysleta High School in 1970.
He worked for Montgomery Ward for many years doing what Roger did best, meeting new people where he established long-term friends that continued to love and support him until his passing. In addition, he worked at 5 Springs Bottling Company.
He began his entrepreneurial career by becoming a well respected and much sought after audio sound system specialist where he would also travel and win numerous awards. In keeping with his entrepreneurial spirit, he established Unlimited Events Production, a company promoting events in El Paso and the surrounding area. Together with his team, they were known for coordinating with various local dealerships to host events such as Low Rider, Hot Rod and Muscle Cars, Big 4x4 Trucks, Motorcycles along with Music Entertainment Shows. He received several Proclamations from the City of El Paso for his contribution in establishing “El Paso Night Shift Knights” otherwise known as Cruise Nights and securing a central and safe place for the youth of El Paso and motorcycle clubs to develop and showcase their talent. You would always be able to find him at these events, easily recognizable in his signature black Stetson hat and cowboy boots.
Roger was also known for being a generous person and received recognition for his charitable contributions. Portions of the proceeds from his work would go to non-profit organizations such as The Make A Wish Foundation and Candlelighters. Another project Roger was proud to be a part of, was The Bulldog Brigade Memorial Association and their efforts to build a Memorial in honor the Fallen Soldiers of 3/1 AD. The last event completed was the muscle car show in 2023 benefiting The American Legion Post 58 Wounded Warrior Project.
Roger will always be remembered for his quick wit, his kind heart and commitment to his community, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Earl (Sr.) and Irene M Branson; brother James Earl Branson Jr., brothers-in-law Max G. Viescas and Thomas (Tom) Hawk.
He is survived by sisters Cora B. Viescas and Mary B. Hawk; sister-in- law Irene J. Branson; numerous /nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
