It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rudolfo Escobar, age 75, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in El Paso, Texas. Rudolfo peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle with illness, embodying the strength and resilience of the soldier he was.
Rudolfo was drafted into the U.S. military in 1969, where he proudly served his country for 24 years before being honorably discharged. After his military service, he dedicated his time and talents to his community. He worked for 20 years at El Paso Community College and another 20 years at the Underwood Golf Course, where his work ethic and kind spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Rudolfo is survived by his loving wife, Waltraud Escobar; his children, Francisco Escobar, Adela Ibarra, and Idy Escobar; his son-in-law Mario Ibarra and daughter-in-law Marcia Escobar; his grandchildren, Jose Mondragon, Javier Rivera, Joseph Escobar, and Sophia Escobar; as well as his great-grandchildren, Makayla Rivera, Joseph Torres, and Royce Rivera. He also leaves behind cherished friends, Alma Solem and Family, Emily Solem, Karin Katusic, Dolores Razo and Family, and Venice Soto and Family.
A devoted family man, friend, and veteran, Rudolfo’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A public service for Rudolfo will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West Funeral Home, 5054 Doniphan Dr., El Paso, Texas 79932.
