Socorro D. Barajas

Socorro D Barajas May 25, 1938-January 18, 2023 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Socorro D Barajas. Socorro was the third child born to Silvano and Andrea V. Duran in La Union, NM. She lived most of her entire life in this small community. Socorro is survived by her daughter Gracie(Rick) Ramirez, sons Oscar( Minnie) Menchaca, Henry Ortiz and Ruben ( Darlene) Ortiz, two granddaughters Melynda (Ernie) Silva and Jaclyn Vasquez, two grandsons Richard(Brandie) and Aaron Ortiz, great-grandchildren Jaden, Kaylee and Rylee Ortiz, Jocelyn and Edward J. (EJ) Vasquez (the light of her eyes), brother Salvador (Zenaida) Duran, sister Ofelia Marcum from Tipp City, Ohio and several nephews, nieces and cousins.Preceding her in death were her parents Silvano and Andrea V. Duran, husbands Freelin Barajas and Richard Ortiz, daughter Yolanda Ortiz, sister Teresa Franco, twin brother/sister Ramon and Maria Luisa Duran and grandson–in–law Edward Vasquez.Cremation has taken place and services will be held on May 27, 2023 at our Lady of Refuge Church in La Union NM at 10am.
