Susanne Marestein Oliver

Susanne Marestein Oliver, 64, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in El Paso, Texas.

Susanne was born in El Paso, Texas on March 5, 1958 to Norman Marestein and Elena Rosales Marestein. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1976 and was a proud Rangerette. She also attended the University of Texas at El Paso.

Susanne was married to Paul Andrew Oliver and they were blessed with two children and one son-in-law: Daughter, Naomi Oliver Aceves; Son-in-Law, Alberto Aaron Aceves; and Son, Paul David Oliver.

Susanne had 4 siblings: Norman David Marestein, Priscilla Leyva, Rebecca Arriola and Reuben Marestein.

She is preceded in death by husband, Paul Andrew Oliver.

Susanne was adored by all of her family, friends and co-workers. She was an Attendance Clerk at two campuses during her 20-year tenure in Socorro Independent School District: Paso Del Norte Elementary and Hurshel Antwine Middle School.

Susanne will be remembered by many traits, especially for being: so hard-working, resilient, a fighter, strong-willed and compassionate.

Her favorite color was purple and she was known to light up a room with her vibrant smile and infectious positive personality.

Susanne made an impact on everyone she came into contact, with a smile always on her face and positive words of encouragement to help brighten up anyone’s day.
