

Teresa M. Adame, passed away peacefully at age 57 on September 7, 2023, in El Paso, Tx. Teresa was born at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. She spent her childhood years traveling the world with her Air force family residing in multiple places to include England; O’Fallon, Illinois; Okinawa, Japan; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Alamogordo, New Mexico, where she graduated from Alamogordo High School. After graduating from High school, she went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business from NMSU and later a Master’s degree in Counseling from UTEP. She spent over 20 years as an employee of the University of Texas at El Paso where she gave her time as a Research administrator and later a Manager of Research and Sponsored projects. She then went on to become the managing director of the research and grants department at Texas Tech University here in El Paso in 2015; there she helped build the department alongside her coworkers. It was during her time at Texas Tech that she became the very first recipient of the Sheri Pulis Award in 2019. She remained highly dedicated to her work throughout 30+ years of service and truly loved what she did.
Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was very devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren always ready to love them and make great memories. She was a devout catholic where she was a part of St Pius x and San Antonio De Padua Catholic Parishes. She dedicated her time to serving the church to include establishing the bereavement ministry at St Pius X and serving in numerous ministries to include the lady knights, crossroads ministry, Women of Faith and the ACTS community. She loved playing guitar, working on puzzles, and playing board games with family and friends. She left behind many beautiful memories everywhere she went and was best known for the joy she so contagiously spread. She will be greatly missed but leaves behind a profound imprint on our hearts.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Rito and Carolina Almengor, Brother Ricardo Almengor and nephew Carlitos Almengor. She is survived by her Husband Jose Adame, daughter Heather Valenzuela (Andres); sons Cory Van Brocklen- Gilmore (Kaytlyn), Jose Daniel Adame (Nathaniel), Paul Adame (Lucy), and Alexander Adame; Grandchildren Nathaniel, Noemi, Nolen, Rito, Camila Joy, Xander and Audrey; brother, Carlos Almengor (Irma); sister Dolores Almengor; nieces Kimberly Maniscalco (James), Michelle Haynes (James), and Soraya Almengor.
