

Thomas Soleau, 86, passed quietly at home January 16, 2018 surrounded by immediate family. Born December 3, 1931 to Tracy Soleau and Bernadine Morrin of Monroe, Michigan. Thomas served his nation from 1952-1954 during the Korean conflict in the US Army. He met and later married Raquel Chavez July 4th, 1952 while serving at Fort Bliss El Paso TX. They shared 65 years of life together between the cities of Toledo Ohio and El Paso. Thomas earned his living as a Master carpenter and contractor retiring in 1987. Upon retiring, the two returned to El Paso where they originally met. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, four of five siblings including Frances T. Soleau, James T Soleau, Richard J. Soleau, and sister Virginia Hertzsch. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Raquel, three sons Thomas E. (Pamela) Soleau Jr., Michael J. (Michele) Soleau, and Mark J. Soleau, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Suzanne Metdepenningen. A celebration of his life with family and friends will be held Friday February 9th at 11am with memorial service at 12:30pm at Crestview Funeral Home 1462 N Zaragoza Rd., El Paso TX with inurnment to follow at 2pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso.
