

In loving memory of Walter F. Ray, also affectionately known as “Toot”, “Grandpa Waffles” and “Grandpa Water”, born March 27, 1955, Lordsburg, New Mexico, died June 5, 2017. Walter was a lifelong member of Boy Scouts attaining the rank of Eagle and was inducted into the “Order of the Arrow”. He went on to serve as scoutmaster and was recipient of the Centurion Award in 2016. Teaching was his passion and he taught science in the early college programs at Mission Valley in El Paso and Cotton Valley in Fabens. An inspiration to his students he could be heard in the hallways shouting “Biology Rules”. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Patricia Brandon, sister Robyn Tomas and husband John and family, children Mark Ray and wife Chrisie, Shawn Ray and fiancé Jessica Sandoval, Emily Ray and partner Erik Juarez, Steven Brandon and wife Mindy, Rick Brandon and wife Sharon; his grandchildren Noah, Josiah, Kayla, Jason, Savannah, Lucas, Alex and John, as well as his best friend Mark Lawson and wife Linda. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America local Yucca Council in his name.
