

He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a rare gift of making others smile and laugh and his love for everything “policeman or cowboy” was endearing. Austin had a huge heart and love of life, and he will forever be missed by all who knew him. Austin graduated from John Hardin High School. Some of his favorite pastimes included going to the lake, swimming, boating and fishing. He loved playing basketball and bowling on the special Olympics team in Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Morton Field; grandmother, Bess Howard and an aunt, Sandra Pagan.
Austin is survived by his parents, Beverly and Kevin Taylor and Mike Howard; his step brothers, Stuart Taylor (Michelle), Josh Taylor (Allison), and Chris Taylor (Erin); his grandparents, Betty Field, and Billy and Virginia Taylor; his aunts, Sharon Novak (Barry), Pam Johnson (Marshall), Brenda Weber, Janice Seamon (Bob), Phylis Taylor and Rhonda Dunn (Paul); his uncles, Tim Howard and Tom Pagan; special nieces and nephews, Pierson, Finley, Ava, Emmett and Ella Taylor and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Tina Lord officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue Wednesday from 10 to 12 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hardin County Special Olympics in Austin’s honor.
