

She was raised in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to the late J. Henry and Lena Lee Bland Clark. In her earlier years, Barbara graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School and then attended Nazareth College in Kentucky, where she received an Associate Degree.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the Bereavement Committee and Forever Young Club. She retired from Hardin County Schools, where she worked as an Office Secretary. Barbara loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved to brag on.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years; Joseph B. Pawley; her parents; a son-in-law, Stevie Pike; brothers-in-law, Wayne Watson, Clyde “Sonny” Miller, Bill Marsee, Gerald Haraway, Shelby “Doc” Vertrees, Ed Cecil, Tom Lynch, and Bob Hansen; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Haraway.
She is survived by two daughters, Mimi Pike of Rineyville and Mary Ellen (Danny) Hutcherson of Elizabethtown; three sons, Danny (Lisa) Pawley of Cecilia and John (Mary Karen) Pawley and Greg (Susan) Pawley, all of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Betty Marsee, Katchie Lynch, and Lucy Hansen; three brothers, Joe (Diana) Clark, Bill (Nicki) Clark, and Kenny (Stephanie) Clark; a brother-in-law, William A. Pawley; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Clark, LaVerne Vertrees, Shirley Cecil, and Darlene Pawley; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Day, Adam (Heather) Pike, Lena (Matt) Rodriguez, Nancy (Brent) Newell, John (Susan; fiance) Hutcherson, Thomas (Ian; fiance) Hutcherson, Aaron (Claire) Pawley, Elizabeth (Mitch; partner) Pawley, Justin Pawley, Dillon (Sydney; fiance) Glenn, Brandt Pawley and Jackson (Emily) Pawley; and 15 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caitlin and Rachel Day, Ava Graybill and Alexa Pike, Thomas and Catherine Rodriguez, Kelly and Clementine Newell, Alicia and Arthur Soares, Juliette Pawley, Reese Glenn Jenkins and John Michael Glenn, Griffin Scott Pawley; and one great-grandson on the way.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. EST on Friday, June 5, 2026 at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating.
Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, June 4th and continues from 10 to 10:45 a.m. EST Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hardin County Room in the Inn.
