
Billy Eugene Watson, born on November 5, 1937, in Slocomb, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on December 18, 2025, at the age of 88. Billy was a longtime resident of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Billy graduated from Slocomb High School in 1956 and spent his early years in Slocomb, Alabama. His lifelong commitment to service began at a young age when he enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving from 1956 to 1960. After completing his military service, Billy built a successful career as a parts manager at a Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he worked from 1960 to 1974. He later continued his dedication to public service as an IT Specialist in the Civil Service, serving from 1974 until his retirement in 1998.
He took great pride in his yard and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing. He also loved cheering on his favorite teams, faithfully following Alabama and Elizabethtown football, as well as University of Kentucky basketball.
Billy was married to Reba for 65 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Parker, and son-in-law, Bruce. Billy was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Chris Parker (Kristi), Brent Parker, Jennifer Louden (Devin), and Shawn Parker (Cayce). His legacy continues through his 17 great-grandchildren: Caleb, Austin, Lacie, Jada, Megan, Peyton, Ady, Julianna, Case, Eden, Lilly, Bentley, Lincoln, Micah, Mason, Zaylee, and Clark; along with a host of several nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, C.W. Watson and Nettie Jones, as well as three brothers and two sisters.
A committed member of the College View Church of Christ, Billy's faith and community involvement were central to his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28,2025 from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. The funeral service will be held the following day on Monday, December 29,2025 at 12 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
