Elizabeth was cherished by so many. She spent her career at General Electric for 33 years. After retirement, she decided she wanted to help people going through grief, so she spent her retirement working in funeral homes across Louisville doing different jobs, doing what she could to help the families she served. She was part of the Dignity Memorial team for over 20 plus years. Elizabeth was also very active in her church, being a member at Jeffersontown Christian for many years, but was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon Junction. She was also active in her volunteer work with Al-Anon.
Even with all of her professional accomplishments she still managed to find time to do the things she loved. She loved to travel and host her friends. She loved to quilt and crochet. Elizabeth had a genuine heart and soul. She will be so greatly missed by so many.
She is survived by her 2 sons, David Baumgardner (Dana) and Troy Baumgardner; grandchildren, Sean (Dakota), Janie (Jesse), Jayson (Cameron), and Ashley (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Hayven, Cayson, Caylee, and Elowyn; 2 brothers, Bill Sullivan (Nancy) and Charles Sullivan; 3 special friends, Janet, Lady, and Sharon; and many extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 1 PM, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Visitation will take place on Thursday, from 9 AM t0 1PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest following the service in Lebanon Junction Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Elizabeth’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
