

Frank James Magnavita, 81, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on the night of March 5, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Frank was born on April 29, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York.
He proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a long career as a truck driver. Frank was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family and living life with determination and grit. Frank loved spending time in his garage fixing things, always working on a project or helping someone solve a problem. He enjoyed watching his favorite old British shows and relaxing with fishing programs, but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family. Frank was a strong, stubborn Italian man through and through, with an incredible work ethic, resilience, and a heart of gold. His family was the center of his world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Magnavita, whom he married in 1984. He is also survived by his children, Dean (Kym) Magnavita, Debra Gypsy, and Angela (Phillip) Dishion. Frank was a proud grandfather to Anthony (Tony) Magnavita, Jessi Gypsy, Emily Gypsy, Tommy Dishion, and Phillip Dishion Jr. He was also blessed with greatgrandchildren Baillie Ernspiker, Lucas Valcarcel, Sophia Dishion, Quinn Dishion, Levi Dishion, Xander Dishion, and Theo James Hooker. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Magnavita, and his father, Frank Magnavita.
Funeral services will be held on March 12, 2026, at Fort
Knox, where he will be laid to rest.
