Lorine had a wonderful long life with whom she touched so many throughout her years.
She was born on February 11th, 1928 in Spurrier, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Floyd) Joyce. She later moved to White Mills and was married to James G. Horn on July 22, 1953, the day after he came home from serving in Korea.
She was a lifelong Christian and servant, a wonderful wife of 56 years and a devoted mother to three sons. She was a long-standing member of White Mills Baptist Church and White Mills Homemakers and was a hairdresser in her early years.
Lorine loved dressing up, wearing her jewelry, and doing her make-up and hair. She loved to GO and do many things throughout her long life. From camping with family, taking beach trips with the grandkids, cooking for her family and the Meal Ministry at church, shopping, and crafting. She loved making beautiful flower arrangements, crocheting, doing needlepoint and quilting, from which she won many 1st place ribbons. She was also an avid reader and was able to pass many of her days reading a good book.
Her most precious legacy are her 3 sons, Dean, Dennis, and Duane. She loved them and their families dearly and was always the golden role model. She passed down many wonderful attributes to her sons, especially her love for cooking, but most of all she and her husband taught them how to care for their families.
She has many wonderful church family and special friends, and other family members who have lived life with her and loved on her throughout the years. One in particular, Ms. Jackie Brown, who she considered her daughter by heart. She adored each of you and her family are very thankful to you all.
Lorine was a wonderful Christian lady who served the Lord in many ways as the wife of a bi-vocational preacher and at her hometown church as well.
She was a special person who will always be thought of with much love and admiration by those her knew her.
She loved the Lord, and her prayer would be that all her family and friends would come to know Christ as their personal Savior and give their life to Him.
So, we can say, this is not goodbye Lorine, Momma, Mamaw or friend, but a see you later.
We will miss her dearly, but we rejoice in knowing she’s now singing with the angels at the feet of Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. James G. "Jimmy" Horn; and her siblings, Maxine Ewing and Joseph R. Joyce.
Survivors include three sons, Dean Horn, Dennis (Vicki) Horn, and Duane (Leslie) Horn; five grandchildren, Philip (Marisa) Horn, Brooke (Nick) Cauley, Dustin (Lauren) Horn, Cody (Morgan) Horn, and Jessica (Trent) Wettstain; and seven great-grandchildren.
