

He was born on January 29, 1955 in Carlisle, Kentucky.
James served in the United States Army for 20 years and worked at Hardin Memorial Hospital as a plumber for over 10 years. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved his family. He enjoyed playing cards and sitting on the porch with his grandchildren.
James was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loraine and Johnny Litzinger; and one son, Jason Nickerson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Ramona Iles Nickerson; one son, Kevin Nickerson (Bethany); a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Nickerson; six grandchildren, Jonathon Nickerson, Mason Nickerson, Spencer Nickerson, Talena Harman, Kenlee Nickerson, and Weston Frank; three sisters, and nieces.
The funeral is at 3 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Visitation begins on Monday at 12 PM Noon and continues until the time of service.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, January 20th at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
