James Dean Reister

He was born on April 8, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky. Dean spent many years as a professional truck driver, where his trucking handle was "Jim Dandy." He continued working in construction with roofing and siding. Dean enjoyed playing his guitar, where he once performed in a band in St. Louis. His know nickname was Deano and he was a U of L fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Garfield Reister; one brother, Billy Reister; his maternal grandparents, William R. and Esther Farris; and paternal grandparents, Moren and Ruby Reister.

Survivors include his mother, Cora Curtis of Elizabethtown; one brother, Thomas Dale Reister; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral is at 11 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Clark officiating.

Burial follows in St. James Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 4th from 2 to 6 PM and continues after 9 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
