

He was born on November 29, 1942, in Vine Grove, Kentucky and later moved with his family to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Jim served in the United States Army Reserves. He retired after 27 years from PACCAR Inc. and had previously worked for several years at Crucible Magnetics in Elizabethtown. He loved bass fishing and watching football, especially the Tennessee Titans and University of Tennessee. Jim was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Beatrice Romans Tuck; one sister, Ellen Kuprion; a nephew, Mark Kuprion; a niece, Missy Tuck; great-nephew, William Kuprion, Jr; and a brother-in-law, Larry Cheatham.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Cathy McGrew Tuck; one brother, Larry Tuck; children, Deadra (Ricky) Shindler of Louisville, KY, Scott (Karen) Tuck of Knoxville, TN, Kimberly (Sonny) Rhyne of Lexington, KY, Christy (Ronnie) Catron of Cecilia, KY, and Eric (Susan) Meredith of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Courtney, Dustin, Reagan, Emma, Ashlyn, Josiah, Peyton, Shiloh, Mallie, Mason, Wylder, and Tennyson; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Harper, Josephine, and Walker; niece, Ann (Mark) Givens of Quality, KY; nephew, William (Angela) Kuprion of Bowling Green, KY; a great-niece, Rachel (Ethan) Bratcher of Quality, KY; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Cheatham of McKinney, TX, Peggy McGrew of Elizabethtown, KY, and Patty (Jeff) Holleran of Kirksey, KY.
The funeral is at 12 PM Noon on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Sonny Rhyne officiating.
Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 29th and continue after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hosparus Health of Central Kentucky or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
