

Jesse was a schoolteacher who taught at East Hardin High School for more than 30 years. He was a Farm Bureau Director, serving on the board. He was lifelong farmer, a huge UK basketball fan, and a Kentucky Colonel. He also loved aviation and had his private pilot license. His greatest love, was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Raymond and Geneva Shipp; a sister, Martha Ann Richardson; and a son in law, Joe Phelps.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Willie Jean Shipp; two daughters, Sharon (Barry) Klussman and Sandra Phelps; four grandchildren, Earl Phelps, Tre’ (Lexie) Cato-Phelps, Elizabeth Klussman, and Morgan (Samantha Rockefeller) Klussman; one great-grandchild, Mak; and one sister, Betty Lou (Don) Williams.
A celebration of life service will be on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. until the start of service.
