She was a dedicated member of Open Valley United Missionary Baptist Church, and she showed her love for the Lord in her daily life. Linda retired from Bowman Distribution after 36 years and was a member of UAW Local #2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Skees; infant daughter, Peggy Lou Peters; brothers, Donald and Joe Lucas; her parents, James and Theresa Lucas; and one infant grandson, Brent Peters; a step-son, David Skees.
Survivors include her three sons, Stephen (Carol) Peters, Roy Peters, and Darrell (Christine) Peters; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Derrick, Aaron, Brian, Jake, Blake, Jason, and Brody; fifteen great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four brothers, Ray (Kim) Lucas, Tony Lucas, Freddie (Patty) Lucas, and Dane (Penny) Lucas; her twin sister, Brenda Skees and her younger sister, Laura May (Cecil) Dennis; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Lucas; step-children, Allen (Leslie) Skees, Doug Skees; sisters-in-law, Pat, Pam, and Terri; friend, John; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Hosparus Health and Baptist Health Oncology team for their commitment to Linda’s care.
The funeral is at 2 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 18th from 4 to 8 PM and continue after 12 PM Noon on Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
