Mae Holladay Harris

She was 100 years old and predeceased by her husband, Charles Russell Harris. She was the last surviving child of her Holladay family of nine children.

She is survived by her three children; Carol Harris Harper (Sam), Dr. Charles Russell Harris Jr. (Donna), Julie Harris Smith (Paul); five grandchildren, Paul Harper (Cecelia), Sally Pilcher (Doug), Harris Smith, Alan Smith (Iryna), and Megan Cross (Nick), and five great-grandchildren. She was beloved by her twenty-seven nieces and nephews.

Mae taught Sunday school at Severns Valley Baptist Church for decades, volunteered with the Internationals at SVBC, and was a faithful member of the church to the end. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for fifty years. Playing bridge was her favorite hobby and she was also an avid reader.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Emory Riley officiating. Visitation is from 12 p.m. Monday until start of service at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Severns Valley Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
