M.C. Meserve, 91, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on January 9. She was born on December 12, 1933, in Franklin, Kentucky to Marvin and Virgie Arnold.
M.C. graduated from Stephens College and then from Western Kentucky State College with a teaching degree, where she met Samuel (Sam), her husband of 33 years. She had a 30-year career teaching home economics at Rineyville High School and North Hardin High School. After retirement, she co-owned and operated Kentucky Traditions, a gift shop in Elizabethtown.
M.C. was an expert seamstress, creating cherished keepsakes like a wedding dress, baptismal gown, and many hand-knitted Christmas stockings for her loved ones. She also enjoyed hosting meals for friends and family, playing cards and traveling.
M.C. volunteered for the Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was an active member of The Garden Club of Elizabethtown, Hardin County Homemakers, Elizabethtown-Hardin-Larue Retired Teachers’ Association, and Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown.
M.C. is survived by her two children, Lisa (John) Diss of Ridgewood, NJ and Kyle (Megan) Meserve of Lexington, KY, grandsons Alexander (Katie Campbell) Diss, Samuel (Jessica) Diss, and John (Grace) Diss, and great grandson John Whitney Diss.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam, sister Lydia Dobbs, and her parents.
A private burial service, followed by a celebration of life for family and friends, will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, at Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown from 1:00 P.M - 3:00 P.M.
