Nadeene (Pipes) Stiles

She was born on April 18,1931 in Gravel Switch, Kentucky to Obediah (Obe) Silas Pipes and Melissa (Wright) Pipes.

Nadeene married the love of her life, Robert Wesley Stiles, on July 21,1955 and together they raised their family in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The most important thing in her life was her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and to her great-grandsons, she was “Grammy”. She also loved to cook and bake (her food was excellent). She enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls, assembling porcelain doll kits and designing and making clothes for those dolls. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandsons. At the end of her life, she still lit up when she saw her grandchildren and great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Wesley Stiles; her sisters, Louise Pipes Reynolds and Rachel Pipes Luckett; her half-sisters, Margaret Smothers Padgett, Genettia Smothers Padgett, Verna Smothers Hoskinson and Pearlee Smothers Pierce; her half-brothers, Frank Smothers and Bill Smothers.

She is survived by her son, James Wayne Stiles (Suzy), her daughter, Debora Melissa Stiles Hodskins (James); her grandchildren, Joseph Robert Hodskins (Sara), Matthew Thomas Hodskins (Angelia), Seaton Elizabeth Stiles Quarles (Brandon) and Samuel Robert Stiles; her great-grandsons, Rand Bruin Hodskins, Rowan Barrett Hodskins and Esben Briar Hodskins.

The funeral will be Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College St. Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., until the start of service at the funeral home.

She was loved and will be greatly missed. It is a comfort to know her new, eternal life in heaven has begun with her husband, parents, and siblings and she feels nothing but joy. As a Christian, death is not the end, but a beginning.
