

Paul Douglas Greenwell, 62, of Elizabethtown, passed away March 3, 2026. Born March 11, 1963, in Delaware, Ohio, he spent most of his life in Elizabethtown building a career, raising his family, and serving his community.
A graduate of Georgetown College with a degree in Marketing and Finance, Paul worked in several fields throughout his career, including serving as Marketing Director at First Federal Bank, working in medical coding and office administration, and co-owning Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens and North Hardin Memorial Gardens prior to his retirement.
Paul was widely known for his commitment to the Elizabethtown community. He served on the Christmas in the Park Committee for 25 years and helped organize the Community Health Clinic. He was active with Junior Achievement, the Rotary Club, Let’s Spruce Up community improvement projects, Walk (Heartland) America, Heartland Festival, Pops in the Park, and Leadership Elizabethtown. He also volunteered as a Trailmaker at Freeman Lake Park and coached youth soccer for many years.
Known for his charisma, humor, generosity, and positive spirit, Paul loved bringing people together. He enjoyed bourbon tasting as a Tennessee Squire, fishing, collecting firearms, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and attending concerts. Above all, he cherished time with family and friends and lived by the simple principle: treat others the way you want to be treated.
He is survived by his partner, Lisa Nalley; his daughters, Emily Blaiklock (Ian Blaiklock), Sarah Greenwell, and Grace Greenwell (Griffin Wassmer); grandchildren Evie, Gemma, and Charlotte Blaiklock; the mother of his daughters, Sue Greenwell; his siblings, Bill Greenwell and Susan Greenwell; his nephew, Milton Greenwell, and his niece, Dechen Sharchok. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Greenwell and Sandra Hodge.
Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, KY, on March 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Graveside services are to follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
