

She was born on October 11, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky to Clifton Wiley and Regina Hall Stewart.
Phyllis was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Louisville and loved her family more than anything in the world. She found joy in everything, especially theatre. Phyllis was always the life of the party.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 56 years, James Edward Florence; and a grandson, Alex Fuller.
Survivors include her two sons, Bryon (Michelle) Florence and Troy (Ginger) Florence; grandchildren, Carol Ann (Mike) Lynch, Shelby (Cory) Lemos, Olivia (Matthew Straughn) Florence, Gracie (Josh Mattingly) Florence and Lukas Florence; great-grandchildren, Arielle, Willow, Declan, Kynadee Alex, and Theo; and her siblings, Cliff (Denise) Stewart, Steve (Jackie) Stewart, Peggy Sue Stewart, and Todd (Gina) Stewart.
A prayer service will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Father Christian Moore officiating.
Visitation begins at 1 PM on Tuesday and continues until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
