She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Valley Creek Baptist Church. Ruth worked
for Trinity Industries and First Citizens Bank. She was an avid researcher of her family's
genealogy and made beautiful quilts to share with many. Her children, grandchildren, great
grandchildren and friends all knew that if you needed a smile or a place to just be yourself and
feel loved, to Ruth's house was the place to go.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Mattingly; a son, Steven Lindsey and
her parents, Roy and Mary Ella Percefull Larue.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Laura) Lindsey of Knightstown, IN and Neil Lindsey of
Elizabethtown; two daughters, Joann (Danny) Duff of New Bern, NC and Teresa (Tim) Stephens
of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Carla Lindsey of Elizabethtown; two step-children, Kenny (Deb)
Mattingly and Tonya (Dale) Wilbur; eight grandchildren, Kristen Hubley, Isaac Duff, Stephanie
(Patrick) Wolfe, Sarah (Jon) Engle, Jacob Lindsey, Mary (Abraham) Salazar, Lindsey (Seth)
Hannan and Savanna (Grant) Donovan; two step-grandchildren, Jordyn Mattingly and Kiegan
Wilbur; eleven great-grandchildren, Ike Duff, Karsen Hubley, Micah and Naomi Salazar, Rowan
and Eleanor Engle, Lily, Sadie and Mia Hannan and Luke and Claire Donovan; and two sisters,
Anna Mae Walker of Laurinburg, NC and Jo Ellen (Rick) Thomas of Elizabethtown
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Kerr officiating.
Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and continue after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hosparus of Central Kentucky or Valley Creek
Baptist Church.
