Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13th 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
Sharon was born November 11, 1951 in a small town in Germany where she would come to be adopted by her loving parents Robert “Bob” and Edith (Waddell) Hanses. Sharon, now a part of a Military Family, would travel and live in many different parts of the world. At the end of her father’s military career, the family settled in Munfordville, KY. Sharon attended and graduated from Hart County High School in 1970. After graduation Sharon began working in the food industry where she would go on to meet the love of her life Donald T. Wallace. Donald and Sharon were married on April 2, 1977 at Wondering Woods in Cave City, KY. In August of 1979 they would later welcome a son, David J. Wallace. They were married for 39 years before Don’s passing in September 2016.
Through the years, with hard work and determination Sharon worked her way from being a server to being highly respected in the restaurant management industry. She opened and managed multiple Cracker Barrel stores across the country. Sharon retired from the company in 2002 but she wasn’t finished quite yet. Sharon would then go on to manage multiple restaurants for Yum Brand until she retired again in 2022.
Sharon met many interesting and influential people in her time in the food and restaurant industry. Many of them would become more than acquaintances, they became life long friends and family. Sharon truly enjoyed living life to its fullest through simple pleasures, talking to friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her granddaughter. Sharon had a huge heart and loving smile.
