He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Plumisto Smallwood; his parents, Press and Lectie Givans Smallwood, sister, Hazel Helm; grandparents, Clarence T. and Hallie Givans who primarily raised him and he adored highly..

He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Randy) Scroggs of Oviedo, FL; son, Thomas S. Smallwood, Jr. (Patricia) of Elizabethtown; sister, Faye (Carl) Coogle of Eastview; brother, Roger (Diane) Smallwood of Cecilia; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Mackenzie Scroggs of Oviedo, FL and Cassidy and Conner Smallwood of Elizabethtown and lots of cousins, nieces, nephews and hopefully a few friends.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Douthitt presiding.

Burial with military honors will follow at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
