Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved father, Calvin Lee Love, and his cherished wife, Barbara Reesor Love, the love of his life.
Wayne, as he was affectionately known, was a man of remarkable strength, courage,
compassion, and kindness. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him-his love for life was contagious, and his outgoing personality meant he was never without company.
Wayne had a special way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
Wayne is lovingly remembered by his devoted daughter, Sarah (Mark) Eggleston; his cherished granddaughters, Natasha and McKenzie (C.J.); and his beloved mother, Lorene Shipley Love.
He is also survived by his sisters: Faye (Steve) Bell, Brenda (John) Erwin, Janice (Johnny) Padgett, Linda (Steve) Dalton, and Teresa (Dale) Yates; and his brothers: Ronnie (Barbara) Love, Tim Love, and Mark Love. Wayne's memory will also live on in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, and all who knew and loved him.
Despite being stricken with polio at the age of three, Wayne never let adversity define him. He lived by his father's encouraging words: "You can do anything in life-you just have to find a way to do it differently." With determination and grace, Wayne went on to serve as a dedicated civil servant at Fort Knox for 25 years. Beyond his career, he gave back to his community as a faithful Sunday school teacher at his family's longtime church, touching lives with his quiet strength and unwavering faith.
Wayne had a deep love for history, often immersing himself in books and documentaries that brought the past to life. He was a generous soul, supporting numerous well-known charities throughout his life. Wayne found peace and joy in the simple pleasures-spending quiet mornings fishing, tending to his garden, and "binge-watching" wholesome TV shows and movies. Above all, he treasured quality time with his family, which brought him his greatest happiness.
