

He was a native of Hardin County and lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War in Thailand. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1455, where he was a financial secretary and the Monsignor McGee General Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Bill served as the Hardin County 5th District magistrate for 12 years and was a member of the Hardin Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. Bill was the director of the Elizabethtown Lions Club for two years and recently served on the Elizabethtown City Council since Jan. 1, 2023. Bill began working at First Hardin National Bank then First Citizens Bank and later retired from Modern Welding after 28 years. He was working part time at Hall's Supply.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Louise Hagan Wiseman.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Floyd Wiseman; two children, Kevin (Traci) Wiseman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Stephanie (Greg) Tompkins of Louisville; a brother, George Eddie Wiseman of Vine Grove; three sisters, Ann (Tom) Houston of Louisville, Fran "Sug" (Jim) Hendrick of Radcliff and Sue (Roger) McMaster of Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Claire and Julia Wiseman; three step grandchildren, Heather Miller, Kayla Bagby and Cody Tompkins; six step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral is at noon Friday, June 14, at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown.
Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue at 9 a.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
